Molten Galaxy

Preface

Project 6 marks the inaugural effort of 2024. Contrasting it with the previous year, it feels like an eternity since I last engaged in artistic contemplation, yet the memory of crafting Project 2 remains vivid. Over the past few days, I've embarked on an astrological observation excursion, capturing a few photos and then returning home to imbue them with some action, receiving some anticipated feedback, thus giving a start to the project.

Evolution

I've long held the belief that evolution is paramount in the creation of art. It often begins with a simple notion, evolves through inspiration, and expands upon existing artworks, thus giving rise to complexity and potency. Project 6 commenced with some simple stripping lines, reflecting the galaxy's true colours and the Milky Way. Observing the extraordinary attractiveness of stars/the Milky Way set against the dark empty spaces aligns with my aesthetic philosophy. However, with the allure of its actual colours, it's imperative to refrain from forsaking the vibrant hues that constitute our world. Last night, inspired by an episode of the animated series "Zima Blue" (2019) by Gabriele Pennacchioli and Robert Vally, I sought to make alterations based on my previous work. The episode's narrative and artistic execution garnered widespread acclaim. The iconic blue square within it may symbolise the essence of the artist, with the creators providing an origin story to clarify its significance. While the artworks themselves possess inherent aesthetic appeal, I opted not for a mere blue square. Instead, I injected its actual colour as a starting point to symbolise our discovery — the world as we, as human beings, perceive it in its original form. As an observer of the world and a creator of art, I've always been captivated by the combination of natural and human-made aesthetics.
